Q. Dear Tamara, I often meet friends for dinner or drinks straight from work. Do you have any tips or tricks on how I can transition my outfit from typical work attire to more cocktail-friendly wear?

A. A great way to transition from work to dinner or drinks is with accessories. It is an easy way to change up your look without bringing your whole wardrobe to work with you. A killer pair of heels and a statement neckpiece or earrings will fit beautifully in your hand bag. Wear a figure flattering dress to work teamed with a blazer and pumps ideal for the office. Once it is time to go simply remove the blazer, change your shoes add your accessory and a bold lipstick and your ready to go!

Q. Dear Tamara, I’m 29-years-old and work in a corporate office. I’m usually a ‘dress girl’ for work however I would love to invest in some two-pieces. I worry that a pant combination can look too ‘boyish’. Do you have any advice on fashionable styles and combinations I should try?

A. You can easily update your work wardrobe by adding classic pieces with a subtle edge. When wearing masculine suiting try including a top in an on trendy dusky pink or soft drape for a feminine touch. Instead of a traditional tailored trouser look for a culotte or wide leg pant, they look great with a crisp white shirt. Instead of a pencil skirt opt for an A-Line option to team with a tucked in top or fitted knit. Instead of wearing your suit as a set break it up and wear it with other items. For example wear a pinstripe navy blazer with a white shirt and black pants or charcoal grey culottes with a dusky pink blouse and a fitted black blazer.
